The second (American, first French) floor of the Picasso Museum in Paris, which is housed in the Hôtel Salé in the Marais. It is one of Paris’s most beautiful private mansions. The hôtel was constructed between 1656 and 1659 for Pierre Aubert, the Seigneur of Fontenay who became rich by collecting salt tax (hence the name Salé which means salted). The Hôtel was acquired by the State in 1964 and was selected to house over 5,000 works by Picasso in 1985. It is open to the public. Even if you’re not a Picasso fan (🙋🏼♂️) the building alone is well worth the entrance fee! We have a whole section of Black and White Paris images at parisianmoments.com (link in profile) which you are welcome to browse.
