As Chase and I explored the wine country, and wrote about homes built within this beautiful environment, again and again we came back to the wonderful ways the architects framed the views. Often, the indoor/outdoor environments made the line between living space the view itself almost indistinguishable. But in other cases, they chose to constrain the view, rendering it just that much more impactful. ⁠⁠

I love the way the forms of the Alvie House – designed by @adamdettrickarchitects and featured in @thelocalproject – form a frame around a select piece of the view. And of course, it’s architecture from down under, which I’m also obsessed with 😉⁠
